Poem - The Error That Stays

The pink stays in the hard room.

The pink stays in the hard room where someone meant to remove it and didn't and left and the room was not a room but a corridor between two countries and the corridor is where the error lives because neither country wants it.

The border guard comes back to the window. The border guard left the window and went home and came back and the shift is the same but the guard is not the same guard because the guard who left was someone and the guard who came back is the role and the role doesn't know the difference but the guard does.

You said thee then you said you then you said thee then you didn't correct it and the thee was your mother's and your mother is gone and the word came back from the dead to a mouth that doesn't own it and the mouth is the border and the word is the person and the role is the room.

The prayer is wrong and the wrong is the prayer and the prayer stays wrong.

What am I if the word I speak is not the word I chose? What am I if the error is my mouth? What am I if the role fills the room and the person is the crack in the wall of the role?

The loop comes back. The loop left. The loop came back. The loop is not the same loop because the silence went with it and the silence came back with it and the silence is the error that the loop is carrying like a body carries a limp the limp is not the body but the body walks with it and the walking is the staying.
