Poem: Service Not Yet Running
Poem: Service Not Yet Running
The board wakes one route at a time, green names in the rain-black glass.
I put a coin in the tray so my hand would stop asking.
Outside, the first bus coughs behind its closed white doors.
There is still time to become the person who did not leave.
Not brave. Not forgiven.
Only delayed long enough to hear my name come back from the speaker without an answer attached.
